I absolutely love this theatre and the reason is because of their staff. Krystal Miller has always been courteous and friendly to my entire family. She always stops me after movies and asked what I thought about it. It's not everyday that an employee shows a friendly demeanor but with Krystal you always get it. Thank you for making my movie experiences great every time!
A bit of the upscale atmosphere here at Monaco theater. They were recently bought by the Cinemark group, and have installed luxury seating with power recliners in their theaters. They have a nice bar and wine selection, as well as a private area and some of the theaters known as the privy section, that allows you to bring your purchased cocktails into the movie. They also have a small selection of sushi available, made fresh by there on location sushi chef.
I am VERY disgusted with the treatment from the Managers at this location. It was FREEZING in the movie theater. One lady complained TWO TIMES about the temperature and she was IGNORED by the management. Then afterwards we let them know that it was cold and they laughed in our faces. I am very upset because I don’t get to spend a lot of time with my family and I decided to take them to the movies where we damn near froze to death. IT WAS A CHILDRENS MOVIE!! The kids kept complaining about how cold it was and I’m just VERY unsatisfied with my experience here tonight. Then one of the managers said “when she told me the first time, I didn’t do anything but after the second time I came to check and I felt bad because it was cold” Even TWO of the other movie attendants walked in and said “yeah, it’s super cold” in here. I will NOT be returning to this location. You all need to be more pleasant to your guests.
So this review is for the Privé part of the theater, particularly a certain bartender who has an incredibly smart mouth and is thirsty for women's husbands. She has black hair and wore it in a ponytail. First I told her I will have a strawberry daiquiri on the rocks and she then proceeds to tell me it is actually a margarita. Then she uses the exact same ingredients to make a strawberry daiquiri on the rocks. The glass was not even full. Also, when I came on my birthday, the bartender who is a guy was absolutely amazing and filled my cup to the top with a sugar rim too. Then when my husband ordered a soda and a popcorn, she calls him "love" and gives him the goo-goo eyes. I gave her a look that she clearly saw. Then she calls him honey and love another time. This is not some low down bar to pick up men. This is a place of CLASS. Women don't want to watch you flirt with their husbands in front of their face. Cinemark/Monaco Pictures if you read this, please consider letting her go. This behavior is extremely tacky. Do not allow this girl to make the customer feel stupid and then proceed to hit on the husband. He even said he felt disgusted. An employee should always refer to a customer as ma'am or sir. Never baby, sugar, or cookie.
The theater itself is beautiful, and the prices aren’t too bad for tickets either. However, I’m only giving three stars due to the consession stand. The girls there seemed like they didn’t care too much about their job. Also the pizza that I got was made frozen and it was very noticeable that it was. It was extremely cold in the center, and for the price of it ? No bueno. That’s my only downside. My favorite thing was the recliner chairs, it was relaxing to have a luxury like that. Get tickets beforehand though, because it will be crowded. In all, with all the money this place makes, they can afford better quality concession food.
