When the room was booked we made sure to request a non-smoking room since I have asthma. We checked in and the staff was WONDERFUL!! However when we got to our room it was obviously a smoking room and then on further investigation we were met by 2 roaches! We went to the front desk and they kindly moved us to a penthouse suite. It also smelled very musty however there were no roaches out in the open. However other quests that were staying there for the same event told us they too had roaches in their rooms and the rooms smelled very musty! Our "penthouse suite" had horrible AC but it functioned. The decor in all the rooms has not been touched in at least 15-20 years! Lots of wear and tear. They told us there would be "the basic kitchen items' and there were not. There was 1 fork, 6 knives, 2 spoons, 4 mixmatched plates, 4 glasses, 4 coffee cups,4 random nonfunctional dishes, however there was a nice skillet with a lid. They did not provide dish soap but did provide dishwasher soap, this made for a wasteful clean up of running the dishwasher for 2 plates, 2 glasses, and 1 fork after each meal. The room service only cleaned the dishes but did not sanitize them. No idea what that meant! The showers were not great. The drains in both of them were stopped up so you ended up standing in a tub of water as you showered. The shower heads leaked and sprayed out side the shower curtain, soaking the floors every time. Then upon further investigation after showering once we noticed the showers were NOT CLEANED WELL!!! EEEWWWW!!! I'm sorry but there was soap scum from at least 5 years in those things! Luckily I had brought some cleaner so I cleaned them myself out of desperation since we had already switched rooms and unpacked and we had already started our events, so we had no way of dealing with it other than my cleaning it myself! The towels are all mixmatched. They use horrible smelling fabric softener on their linens. The comp breakfast is coffee, waffles, danishes, doughnuts, bagels, two types of cereal, and OJ. No fruit or protein. The beading is worn and dated. The carpets are DISGUSTING!! We kept our socks on the whole time! I don't normally care about that...but these carpets were nasty! The furniture was stained with who knows what and worn horribly. The couches are all placed in areas of traffic in every room and you cant move them! I hit ours every time. And our other friends said they did the same. The murphy bed on our "penthouse suite" did not go up so you had to literally walk around it int he tiny space available to walk. I fell on it a couple times...but its a bed so it broke my fall. HA HA! The outside of the buildings themselves are really needing repair! The decks to each room are on the verge of being dangerous with rotted wood everywhere! Also all of the weather seals on the doors are basically gone so you can see outside from under the crack. The pool was not great, broken handles from old ladders are waiting to impale someone, the actual pool was dirty at the bottom, and the concrete was horribly cracked and kind of looked dangerous. Will I stay there again...NOPE! Will I recommend it...NOPE! The only "good thing" about the actual room is the actual kitchen that isn't even stocked with the minimum needed to prepare a meal and clean up after. However I will say the staff is AMAZING!! They just happen to work for a not so great hotel. ;)

It would be nice if they mention us that we are required to make a reservation before I arrived so it would save me tons of time skipping this hotel. I'm a very tired deaf traveler that cannot make called to make reservations
I had a great experience the food was great the atmosphere was wonderful I would recommend this place for anyone
