Stayed for one night while traveling to see the eclipse in TN. The hotel has some age on it, and the rooms could definitely use a remodel. Also, despite following the instructions to set the thermostat several degrees cooler than desired, the room never seemed to cool off sufficiently. But most employees offer good service. Was especially happy with housekeeping - I called once for some extras and they showed up within a few minutes. Slightly miffed that a manager was giving the desk clerk a lengthy lesson in how much water bottles cost (in the middle of my check in) which made that process take longer than necessary. It could have waited.
I travel frequently and have stayed at this property frequently over the past 3 years. I stayed twice in the past few weeks and not sure what happened but was very underwhelmed by the property. I didn't have hot water several times. The sliding front doors were broken. The heat didn't work down stairs. When I tried to order food at the bar the bartender encouraged me to go down the road since he was cold due to no heat and wanted to go home. I'm a loyal Marriott traveler but will finding another option next time I travel to the area.
We stayed at this hotel one night during the Irma evacuation. Unfortunately, the stay wasn't great. The room was priced very high for the evening at $250+, and the TV and remote did not work. The bathroom door had tape over holes in it, and the tape was painted or drawn on to appear similar to the wood grain in the door. Overall, the room was dated and clearly overpriced for the evening. In addition, the ice machine on the third floor didn't work. The staff was merely adequate in helping us; they weren't willing to go out of their way unless pressed. The one redeeming feature for the hotel was the beautiful view of the space center next door. If I'm ever in the area again, I will stay somewhere else. I'm typically a Marriott fan, but this one is no good.
It's within walking distance of the space center. It has an indoor/outdoor pool which was nice especially if you have been driving for several hours. The rooms were good and the staff was nice and helpful. The bar area is a good spot to catch a game on TV while enjoying a beverage and some food.
Although this is an older property, they do maintain it well and are making improvements. The new lounge is very nice for elite members. The gym is big and always busy but has plenty of machines. The rooms are adequate and kept clean but the hotel shows it's age by the decor. The location is easy to get to but not particularly close to anything.
