Nice place easy to get to what you need. As a (Ret.) SSG this is the closest base to me.
Great base, good work, wide open when you get pass the gate traffic.
Legendary childhood memories created here! Field trips to the fire station, Oktoberfest at the fairgrounds, grandma telling us that the place was infested with alligators! Also the Commissary. Gate traffic can be quite obnoxious, but the guards are just doing their jobs. Great employment opportunities as well.
This is an awesome tour that I would definitely recommend going on if you're in the Huntsville area. It's 2 - 3 hours long and you need to be a US Citizen but you get to see some great stuff like historic engine test stands and even Payload Operations for the International Space Station.
I feel like I get a little smarter every day I go there.
