Bad Experience. My Son passed away on 4/14/17 and everything was paid for and to my knowledge it had been taken care of. I didn't hear anything back until 7/31/17 saying that the headstone is now just being placed on order. The excuse I got from Nick Nichols was my assistance had a death in the family and I haven't heard back from her. I understand that but my son passed away in April his headstone should of been in already regardless of the situation . Through this whole experience I've gone through it has been awful especially with them Catering more to my ex husband side of the family.
Nice was very good at answering all our questions and all the details were handled beautifully. Ralph was FABULOUS! He made sure that every one made it to the right place before starting anything (we had some people that were handicap and it took them longer to walk to the different places). Ralph was so kind and caring to not only my mother in law, but to each person that needed that extra love. He even gave my daughter permission to take some of the flowers from her grandpa's arrangements as a remembrance of how much her grandpa loved her. It was a rough few days, but Ralph made it special for the last times of seeing grandpa/Dad. Ralph made sure everything was taken care of from the bugler, to the honor guard, to the beautiful red, white and blue spray of flowers, to the pall bearers and what he needed of them and when he needed them, to arranging to have the flowers brought from the church, that there was a beautiful box for all the cards and notes from people at the church, to making sure Grandma/Mom met the Coast Guard honor guard that came to help with the service. Grandma/Mom was worried about no longer being part of the Coast Guard family, but Ralph made sure that the honor guard made mention of Mom forever being part of the Coast guard family. (This was special to Mom, as 25 years that Grandpa/Dad was a "coastie" and her standing by his side at home with 4 boys to raise while Dad was gone on deployment on the different ships and assignments she was just as much a coastie as he was and felt that since Dad was no longer with us, that she was "pushed " aside for other couples, but no they need her too, to help the other wives. This made mom feel good.) Ralph was so wonderful to have around knowing no matter what came up, he would make sure it was handled. Thank you so very much Ralph! You made a rough day more wonderful and a more peaceful experience.
Nice place
They treated our family with kindness and respect.
Alarmingly bad experience. 6 months later still no headstone on my family's grave. They are stating they never got our paperwork that was issued. Took weeks to return a call, and Jenny was very rude on the phone. It is still not resolved and my grandfather is there without a headstone. Terrible organization, communication, and severe lack of compassionate candor. Do not deal with this business. In the event that there is a mishap, trying to deal with that through them is almost impossible making an already difficult situation even more so. I recommend Spry. I have spoken with them to answer the questions Valhalla would not even though we don't have a burial plot with Spry. It's sad that another funeral home where we haven't even buried him has been 1,000 times kinder and more helpful.
