Took our 9 month old mini dachshund, Willy, in at 6:45p the Thursday night before Christmas (they close at 7p) because he was trembling and panting. Found he had swallowed a straight pin. Rather than sending us to the Emergency Clinic as we had expected, Dr Anderson operated and stayed with him till he was stable. Willy has done fabulously with his surgery and is back to normal. What made this more remarkable is that it was the first time we had taken our little guy there so we were not regular patients. We felt this was above and beyond what we might have expected and we are very grateful for the care and compassion shown by Dr Anderson and his staff. Our previous vet has retired and this experience made it easy for us to decide to use Animal Care Clinic as our new veterinary practice.
Usually don't need an appointment. Waits aren't too long. Front office folks are friendly, real animal people. Doctors are great. Always had good care here for our pets. They are open late with long Saturday hours.
We have been using them for years but switched to another vet today. Dog had liquid spewing out of ears upon picking him up from being boarded, and that is not an exaggeration. I came back in immediately and they said it was normal. Next day he was in pain so I called and they said they wouldn't charge if I brought him in. They charged $54.29 for ear drops and refused to give him pain medicine. We had to wait at least 30 minutes yesterday when we picked both dogs up even though they promised they would be ready hours before. They had a bath but must have rolled around in something nasty because they smelled bad. I didn't get a call about my dog's ear infection and they didn't tell me at the front desk. I'm not an unreasonable person and understand that stuff happens sometimes but this ear infection ordeal and the way they handled it (or didn't handle it) was completely unacceptable. My family has been taking our pets here since the 1980s but not after today.
Our dog, Koda, had an aggressive cancer and we had to make the unfortunate decision to have her put to sleep. These folks are so caring and helpful. I can't express how thankful we are for them and for Bethany. Even though they are a very busy office she talked to me multiple times on the phone to help me through this process. They let us spend as much time as we wanted with our baby before having to say goodbye. They handled everything with PAWS and made that so easy. In this hard time, we couldn't be any more happy with the service we received here. I also expected an outrageous amount of money. That wasn't the case. It was very affordable. They also did a surgery for her about four years ago removing a tumor. They were excellent then too. They are highly recommended and we will be back!
In my opinion this place needs to shut down. Saturday I took my dog there for an emergency she had been hit by a car and her injury was pretty bad. They simple wrapped it sent me home with some meds (after charging me $300.00) and told me to bring her back this week. The next day she started to smell and by Monday morning it was horrible. I took her to our vet in Arab and this is when I found out that they never cleaned her wounds!! It had mud and grass in her deep cut and it had set up an infection!! Animal care clinic had also splinted her leg (that was not broke) so basically they stopped the bleeding and pretty much placed her my pain. If I had not took her in when I did she could have lost her leg or died. All they care about is money!!! This was not my first bad experience but in an emergency I had no choice but to take her there. It will not happen again!!
