We took our Grandsons to Downtown Huntsville yesterday to Big Spring Park to feed the Ducks and fish, and just happen to see the Super Slide, we never heard any advertising for this, as seems to be the usually for events in Huntsville. We thought this would be a great fun thing for our Grandsons to do, but when checking the prices for the slide and the tubes , which also charged an additional $2.00 to inflate, this would have cost $70.00 to $80.00 dollars for each to have a one trip down the slide, this is outrageous and out and out highway robbery . I then understood why the line was very short, a lot of people just could not afford this.
Tommy Battle has done so many great things for this city. If I lived anywhere in Alabama other than Huntsville, I would move back out of this state as soon as I could. Him running for governor is good and bad. It's actually a great thing because he would be the first governor that I know of that will actually push Alabama to become a great state. It is not good thing because Huntsville will lose a great mayor of he wins. Hopefully the successor of Battle will be just as good if not better.
Huntsville, is always talking about trying to get people downtown this would have been a great draw if it had been advertised on the local news I would say starting a week prior, and if the City had maybe paid the cost of the slide rental , so as to maybe lower these individual cost where the normal Huntsvillian could have afforded it, I bet the lines would have been a lot longer. The grandsons were a little disappointed that they did not get to slide, but even the 10 year old said that was to expensive and that if the price were lower more people would have been there.

Just my 2 cents worth, I love Huntsville and agree that we need to draw more people to our downtown area.
The Mayor's secretary is a liar, scammer, and con artist. She does not care about the people of the community and she needs to be fired ASAP.
