Girlfriend and I ate here today and found the food much better than yesterday's Kacey's Home Kitchen. Overall the food actually had seasonings and taste, not generic bland flavors. The spicy friend chicken was done just right. Very flaky coating, but not too thick or flaky. The mashed potatoes n gravy was excellent. Laura liked everything she tried, as did I. The help was super nice and friendly from the time we walked in, to serving to us, to saying goodbye when we left. They seemed to really mean it and care about us as customers. Something you do not always find, even here in HSV. Give them a try or two!
I think it's even better than the Popeye's Buffet that was originally there.

As far as home cooking, comfort food goes, this place is really good. Made from scratch biscuits smothered with butter were so yummy and the red beans and rice had great flavor and so did the greens.
Only suggestion would be to add something more to the dessert menu on the bar.
Other than that, no complaints whatsoever.

Good food. Wasn't too appreciative of the fact that the internet says they close at 9pm on Sundays, which is apparently not true. We walked in at 7:20pm on Sunday and was rudely told that the buffet would be closing in 10 minutes. For a minute, I thought that it was 7:50pm and with the misunderstanding, I was cool with leaving because I hate to be that person. When I got in my car and saw that there was 40 minutes before they closed, contrary to what the internet says, I decided to change my 5 star rating to a 2 star. They lost my business tonight.
The shrimp on the buffet was an added bonus as well!
Definitely won't get any of my money... My daughter and I happened to see one of the workers at a convenience store on our way home whose husband was proudly sporting a t-shirt which read "No Race Mixing" above an image of a black and white stick-people couple. THEN had the nerve to have the Confederate flag slathered across the back windshield captioned with, get this, "Heritage not hate"... Like seriously?
